Coastal Hideaway- About the cottage

The cottage is nestled in the lovely village of Wyke Regis, tucked away just off the quiet Old High street and close to both Weymouth and Portland.
Perfect for small families/couples + dogs.
Within easy walk of small beaches, coastal walks and amenities such as dog friendly pub, Tesco Express and takeaways. Portland harbour is a mere 2 miles away as is the World famous Chesil Beach which forms part of the Jurassic coast.
South West Coast Path is minutes walk away, perfect for a stop over to complete the Portland leg of the route.

The cottage is very old and as such has some nice original features including original beams in the living room but has been modernised for comfortable living.

There is good central heating throughout but a (surprisingly realistic!) wood burner style electric flame effect fire is provided in the lounge for instant heat/ambience in the winter.

Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms (1 x kingsize and 1x single) plus the bathroom which has shower cubicle, toilet and basin. The main bedroom has space for a travel cot and/or self inflating air bed (surprisingly comfy!) if required.

Downstairs there is a cosy lounge with sofas (including 2 seater sofa bed), there is a good smart TV with the usual viewing apps plus an Alexa smart speaker for radio/music etc.

Our Wi-Fi is usually very good.

Also downstairs is fully kitted out kitchen/diner with modern facilities such as a dishwasher, full sized fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Dishwasher tablets and washing powder are provided free of charge as are teas/coffee/hot chocolate/milk/ice and condiments for use during your stay.

All bedding and towels are provided as are a selection of books, puzzles and board games plus local information leaflets.

There is an entrance porch for coats, flip-flops or muddy boots and towelling off the dog/s.
You’ll also find useful bits and bobs here including a selection of buckets and spades for the beach, picnic blanket, cool bag plus items for your dogs such as a water bowl, spare leads, balls, treats and towels.

The cottage is carpeted throughout except the kitchen, bathroom and porch.

Being in the old part of the village we do not have allocated parking outside the cottage however there is free, unrestricted parking in nearby streets no more than a couple of minutes walk away. Full parking instructions and directions will be sent prior to your arrival. The nearest EV charging point is at Lidl Portland which is 2.2 miles away.

The private, enclosed garden is a lovely space to spend time with the fish pond, small grassed area and pretty pots. It's a nice safe area for dogs to come and go from the cottage .
Comfortable outdoor seating is there for enjoying the garden.

A Medium size dog crate (3ft x 2ft x 2 ft) and small dog bed are available to use at no charge if required.

A dog sitting service can be arranged if required @ £12.50 per hour (min 2 hours) please message us with details of date and times.

The whole place and private garden are yours for the duration of your stay.
Other things to note:
There is a fish pond in the garden. It has a low wall around it and netting over the the top therefore children must never be allowed unsupervised in the garden.

The staircase is steep due to the age/design of the cottage so unsuitable for those who find stairs a challenge.  Please see the pictures below.

We do not allow smoking/vaping inside the cottage however smoking/vaping in the garden is perfectly fine.

*Whilst we have facilities to accommodate babies / young children and many young families have had fabulous holidays with us, please consider factors such as our parking arrangements and location before choosing to book with us especially if you have a pushchair. By the very nature of our private and slightly hidden away position in the village if you might not appreciate this quirky feature it may be better that you choose an alternative property. We would much rather you enjoy your holiday rather than give us a bad review for a poor choice of accommodation

We had a lovely weekend stay here. Only a few minutes walk away from Pirates Cove. Very cosy cottage and nice to come back to the fire. Feeding the fish was an added novelty. Would definitely recommen ...
